The Telecommunications Advancement Foundation Award

The Telecommunications Advancement Foundation Award recognizes outstanding publications and research that contribute to the further development of information and communication technologies.

About awarded research

In this study, the authors applied a deep learning approach based on graph neural networks to analyze user behavior logs and social graphs on social media, with the aim of identifying users at high risk of engaging in problematic behaviors or becoming victims from the perspective of youth protection. They further conducted an intervention by sending warning and awareness messages to the identified high-risk users. The results showed a significant reduction in both harmful behaviors and victimization, particularly among female users.
