1.Concerning the collection of user information
This site may collect information and data that potentially identifies an individual when an inquiry about a teaching staff opening has been made. The information and data collected about the individual applying for a teaching position may include but is not limited to the name, street address, employer, names of schools attended, job title, and contact information including e-mail address, telephone number, and fax number.
2. Concerning the scope of collected personal user information and data
Within its scope of activities The University of Tokyo retains, uses, and analyzes information and data collected from users that can identify individuals. In addition, The University of Tokyo shall be able to use the collected information and data which can identify individuals according to relevant items specified in this privacy policy.
3.Disclosure of Collected Information and data to Third Parties
The University of Tokyo will not disclose to any third party any collected personal information that identifies an individual except for the following three instances:
・Where disclosure is required, based on legal grounds
・When personal information was collected, where consent has been specifically given for disclosure, particularly to third parties.
・Where certain personal information is disclosed to an employee of the University of Tokyo to the extent that such disclosure is needed to render a service to you. The handling of privacy policy conforms to the regulations of the university.
This policy outlines how the official social media accounts (hereinafter “accounts”) managed by Public Relations Office, the Faculty and Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo (hereinafter the “School of Engineering”) are used and how they communicate information.
School of Engineering social media accounts other than those listed here are managed by other University organizations and operate under separate policies.
1.Purpose of Social Media Use
Through coordination with the School of Engineering website, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter) and other social media platforms are used to communicate information related to the University, including its initiatives, events, education, research and student activities, with the purpose of enhancing users’ understanding of and interest in School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo.

3.Management
(1) Content of posts
The School of Engineering posts information related to the University, taking the utmost caution not to infringe upon the privacy, reputations, likenesses or trademarks of others and to be in compliance with relevant laws.
(2) Replies and comments
Replies and comments generally are not given in response to posts and messages received from users through the accounts. Please contact the University via this inquiry form regarding any questions, etc. about University-posted content to the accounts. Also, comments and posts deemed inappropriate may be hidden or deleted without consent from the user commenting.
(3) Shares, retweets, likes and follows
The School of Engineering may share, retweet, like or follow other accounts or content when deemed appropriate.
4.Intellectual Property Rights
Copyrights and other rights associated with comments, etc. posted onto the accounts belong to the users who post them. However, by posting, these users grant the University the royalty-free, non-exclusive right to use their posted content (including by editing, reproducing or translating), and agree not to exercise copyright or other rights on the University.
5.Disclaimers
While the University makes thorough efforts to communicate accurate information from the accounts, it bears no responsibility for any actions taken by users based on this information. The University also bears no responsibility for any trouble or conflict between users or users and third parties resulting from comments posted by users to these accounts or regarding these accounts in general.
