IEEE EDS Japan Chapter Student Award
This award is presented to young student researchers affiliated with universities or graduate schools in Japan who are recognized for their outstanding and significant contributions to electronic device technology.
About awarded research
Awarded paper
Kosuke Ito:K. Ito, M. Takenaka, S. Takagi, and K. Toprasertpong, “Revealing wake-up mechanism in ultra-thin ferroelectric HZO: Domain de-pinning triggered by oxygen vacancy annihilation exhibiting optimal wake-up frequency,” 2025 Symposia on VLSI Technology and Circuits, T11-1, Kyoto, Japan, Jun. 8-12, 2025.
This work systematically investigates the wake-up effect, a key issue in thin-film ferroelectric HZO, clarifies its physical mechanism, and proposes an efficient wake-up method.
Tomohiro Akazawa:T. Akazawa, R. Tang, H. Tang, M. Okano, K. Toprasertpong, S. Takagi, and M. Takenaka, “Ultralow-energy and fast optical switch by III-V/Si hybrid MOS optical phase shifters,” 2025 IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM), 21-5, San Francisco, CA, USA, Dec. 6-10, 2025.This work demonstrates an ultralow-power optical switch using a MOS-type optical phase shifter developed in our laboratory, providing a technology for reducing power consumption in data servers.
