About awarded research
The award-winning paper, "AI-enabled Traffic Flow-Prediction and Function-Configuration for 5G Networks: An Integrated Design of High Reliability and Low Cost", studied the problem of scaling and expanding network functions in 5G networks, and proposed a network traffic prediction and network function configuration mechanism based on artificial intelligence. This research aims to reduce the cost of deploying network functions while improving communication reliability when scaling and expanding network functions based on real-time user traffic. Specifically, a 5G network traffic prediction mechanism based on small sample learning is designed to predict traffic in areas with insufficient training data. Based on the predicted network traffic, we propose a network function configuration mechanism based on deep reinforcement learning, which comprehensively optimizes communication reliability and deployment costs, and achieves long-term efficiency improvements for 5G networks.
Your impression & future plan
We are truly honored to have received the ICC 2024 Best Paper Award. We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to all of my co-researchers. Our research focuses on traffic prediction and network function configuration in intelligent networks, and I am delighted that our previous achievements have been recognized. In the future, we will continue to apply this research to more diverse and complex 6G network systems, and we will work hard to contribute to improving the reliability of network communications and reducing the consumption of scaling expansion.
