On 5th September 2024, Akane Suzuki (M1) , Nakao Lab, Department of Systems Innovation, received Young Researcher Encouragement Award at The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers.
Young Researcher Encouragement Award
This award is given to the presenter of an encouraging lecture given by a young researcher at a Type 1 Research Meeting organized by the Network Systems Research Special Committee, which is recognized as particularly excellent and promising for future activities. The award is given to approximately 10% of the presentations eligible for the Young Researchers’ Encouragement Award.
About awarded research
The title of the research is "A Cross-Layer Congestion Control Based on Bandwidth Fluctuation Estimation for Low Earth Orbit Satellite Communications". This research proposes methods to efficiently connect low earth orbit satellite communications, such as Starlink, with terrestrial communications. Focusing on the issue that the periodic fluctuations of low earth orbit satellite communications degrade the communication performance of conventional control methods, a new control method is proposed.
