Excellence in research thrives on global exchange. In this issue, I would like to share our strategic vision for the internationalization of the School of Engineering.
Research does not happen in isolation; it is through sharing knowledge with peers worldwide and embracing diverse perspectives that true innovation is sparked. This international focus is equally vital for education. For the next generation of researchers and engineers, the experience of learning and collaborating across different cultures is an invaluable asset.
To drive this mission forward, we established the International Strategy Office last year, consolidating our efforts in research, education, and global outreach. By advancing international joint research and cultivating a truly global academic environment, we aim to build a school that is fully open to the world.
□ At the Forefront
Our international strategy centers on three key pillars: building world-class research networks, expanding global educational pathways, and enhancing our global presence.
On the educational front, we are actively developing double-degree programs and expanding our English-taught curriculum to prepare students for global careers. A prime example is our joint-supervision doctoral double-degree program with the University of Manchester, which fully launched this academic year. By leveraging the combined resources and faculty expertise of both institutions, this pioneering initiative provides a rich, international environment for doctoral talent. Moving forward, we plan to expand this model to other leading universities.
Furthermore, by strategically communicating our research achievements and educational strengths to the world, we aim to attract top-tier talent, foster new collaborations, and elevate the global presence of our school.
