Second Mechanism Synthesis Research Seminar Report

 

Overview

The 2nd Mechanism Synthesis Research Seminar -“Design of incentive mechanisms to encourage voluntary medical data provision" was hosted by Nishino Laboratory, Department of Technology Management for Innovation, School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo. In addition to academia, many people from industry were interested in the event, and about 50 people attended, including online. As one of the results of the laboratory's research to date, first-year master's student Ayato Kitadai reported on "Decision Analysis of Data Provision as a Public Goods Model," and Dr.Mari Ito and Dr.Akiko Fukagawa of the National Institute of Biomedical Innovation and Health and Nutrition (NIBIO) reported on real activities in the field in "Construction of Healthcare Data Platforms to be undertaken at the LINC. “ Dr. Koichi Sumizkura of National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) shared a wide range of knowledge on "Effects and Challenges of the Next Generation Healthcare Infrastructure Act". An overview of the research project and its future development, and a general discussion was led by Dr. Masanori Fujita of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, which led to a lively exchange of views. Networking among industry, government, and academia, including students, was very successful at the research exchange party after the seminar.

We plan to continue to hold the Mechanism Synthesis Research Seminar about once every six months in the future.
