〈Name of award and short explanation about the award〉
Outstanding student award
It was given for the great presentations at the student session.

About awarded research〉
Title: Numerical study on powder mixing mechanism in a container blender.

Powder mixing is an important process that has a significant impact on the quality of the products. Homogeneous and efficient mixing is required. When the solid particle's size is small, airflow strongly affects the behavior of the solid particles. However, effect of airflow on powder mixing has never been examined so far, and relationship between drag force acting on particles and mixing mechanism has hardly been discussed in a container blender.
In this study, effect of airflow on powder mixing was investigated for the first time by recently developed numerical technology, and the relationship between drag force and the mixing mechanism was clarified.
