The 10th Cambridge - UTokyo Joint Symposium “Navigating the Future: Impact through Partnerships”

Since the University of Tokyo and the University of Cambridge concluded a Strategic Partnership Agreement in March 2015, the two universities have alternately hosted joint symposia. The 10th UTokyo–Cambridge Joint Symposium will be held at the University of Cambridge in September 2026.

Under the theme, “Navigating the Future: Impact through Partnerships,” this year’s Joint Symposium will also feature parallel sessions on the following three topics: In Defense of Language: AI, Translation, and the Future of Semantics. Sustainable Energy and Global Security, and Physical AI for Sustainable Real-World Innovation
In addition, UTokyo-Cambridge Voices, launched in 2020, is a series of interactive dialogues between researchers from the University of Tokyo and the University of Cambridge on their respective areas of expertise. The series is jointly organized by the two universities under the framework of their Strategic Partnership.

This year, in conjunction with the Joint Symposium to be held at the University of Cambridge on September 24, six UTokyo-Cambridge Voices sessions will take place on September 25.
