Lecture series for Junior and Senior High Schools: Nagano Prefectural Matsumoto Fukashi Senior High School

2024/07/22

On 22 July 2024, 320 first-year high school students attended the lecture.

After the lecture, many positive comments were received, such as "It was a day that made me realise that it is our generation that can change the future and Japan", "The passion and seriousness of learning were conveyed to me, and it motivated me to learn more in the future", and "I thought it would be difficult to enter the University of Tokyo, but now I feel that if I work as hard as I can at this point, passing the exam will not be only a dream". It was very inspiring for the participating students. During the Q&A session, students actively raised their hands with questions ranging from the future of AI and unique questions about the railways they are interested in, to more political topics.

Dean Kato carefully answered each question, and the students responded with opinions like "It was very encouraging to meet adults like Dean Kato, who are trying to realise their dreams" and "I got revitalised before the summer holidays when I was feeling sluggish". Overall, it was an opportunity for them to increase their motivation to learn.
