On 19th June 2024, students from the iP class, who wish to study at UTokyo, and those from the global course attended the lecture.
Dean Kato talked about his time as a student himself and his latest research, as well as introducing the attractiveness of the Faculty of Engineering, UTokyo and female graduates who are active in society. He particularly conveyed the realities of the Faculty of Engineering of UTokyo, especially the diversity and importance of engineering.
There was feedback such as, "I learnt for the first time that engineering is a field that is useful for people, I strongly felt that I would like to do research that is useful for people in the future" and "I didn’t know what 'research' was about, but I understand it well now".
After the lecture, a photograph was taken to mark the occasion with Dean Kato. It was a memorable day of new discoveries for both students and teachers.
