On 18 October 2023, a lecture was held at Hokurei Junior and Senior High School. Junior high school students and first-year high school students were invited to participate.
Participating students left comments such as "It was an important day for me, as I had only thought about going on to medical school, and it opened up a whole new world in my head" and "The information I know about engineering is still very shallow, and I learned something very profound from this lecture". The lecture was designed to broaden the choice of new career paths.
Many students were delighted to receive the message from Dean Kato: "I wait for you at the Faculty of Engineering, UTokyo". Many said they were motivated and felt the strength to start working hard tomorrow. The lively lecture went over time, with a constant queue for questions and answers even after the lecture had finished.
