Lecture series for Junior and Senior High Schools: Shiba Kokusai Junior and Senior High School

On 5 October 2023, a lecture was held at Shiba Kokusai Junior and Senior High School for first-year high school and first-year junior high school students.

After listening to Dean Kato's experience as a student and his encouraging messages to young people, one student commented, "Even if I fail, I won't give up, I'll get up and try my best to achieve my dream". Following an introduction to the research being carried out at the UTokyo's Faculty of Engineering, other students made comments such as "I was only interested in robots, but it's good to know that you can do cutting-edge research in many more fields than I imagined" and "I want to become a researcher who can provide high-quality techniques; not only for Japan but also for the world".

The attending students surrounded Dean Kato, who advised them on their study worries and concerns, and left the venue with big smiles on their faces!
