JTTRI Best Paper Award

This is the best paper award established at the ATRS2023 Kobe conference, sponsored by JTTRI.

About awarded research

title :  "Verification of fuel efficiency using the A320neo simulator by combining fixed-flight path angle descent and speed control to Kansai International Airport" ( authors:Daiki IWATA, Yuki NONAKA, Eri ITOH)

While the world aims toward carbon neutrality, the reduction of carbon footprint in the aviation industry has been addressed as well. Our research proposed Fixed-flight Path Angle (FPA) descent which realizes both fuel reduction and operational feasibility of pilot and air traffic controllers. A series of experiments using A320 aircraft flight simulator conducted in 2022 showed the fuel consumption reduction benefits and operational feasibility.
