About awarded research

This study analyzed the current state of cold-chain cargo transport in the Philippines using an integrated international and domestic logistics network model. While logistics infrastructure has been improving, the constraints related to ports, roads, and reefer facilities necessary for temperature-controlled transport had not been sufficiently quantified. Therefore, through a field survey of approximately one week, we investigated the conditions of ports and cold-chain logistics infrastructure, and developed a model that reflects the cost structures and time values of dry, refrigerated, and frozen cargo. Then, policy scenario analyses were conducted related to road and bridge improvements and cold-chain infrastructure development, showing that their impacts on port usage and inter-island transport differ depending on cargo type.

Your impression & future plan

I am deeply honored to have received this award at an international conference. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Professor Shibasaki for his careful guidance, as well as to the senior members of my laboratory, including Mr. Yuki Inoue (D2 student), for their valuable advice and support throughout this research. Encouraged by this award, I will continue to make every effort in my future work.
