(Dean's log) Lecture series for Junior and Senior High Schools: Aomori High School

On 9 October 2024, approximately 500 1st- and 2nd-year high school students attended the lecture.

Dean Kato introduced the research contents of professors who are actively involved at the Faculty of Engineering at UTokyo, and research which influences the world precisely. We received some comments from the attended students including "I was not sure which path to take, but I am now determined to continue my studies at the Faculty of Engineering and to become a person capable of solving major global problems", "I got to know the world that I would never get to know in high school. It was really worth listening to stories from university to future career", "I now want to enter the Faculty of Engineering after knowing that active women who went on to study at the Faculty of Engineering", and "I never thought about it before, but I learned about the weight of responsibility that I take".

It was a great opportunity for the students to think deeply about their next stage of education.
