The event attracted 2,000 entries, and around 1,000 students from elementary to high school, selected by lottery, and their parents gathered at Yasuda Auditorium.
In Dean Kato’s opening remarks, he said, "I would like to think about AI together with you and imagine how your lives will change in the future".
Professor Yutaka Matsuo, Professor Takahiro Sagawa and members of the QuizKnock discussed about AI and also used ChatGPT to create novel-like sentences together with the audience, which was a great success. Professors also gave a talk introducing participants to the academic side of AI.
It was impressive to see even the elementary school students actively raising their hands to ask questions. In addition to the participants in Yasuda Auditorium, many questions were also raised by participants watching the YouTube stream.
Many participants said they really enjoyed the event and left their comments including "I got to know AI from different angles and am looking forward to imagining the future"; "On the other hand, it was a good opportunity to learn what only humans can do and what humans are"; and "I hope you will organize more events like this".
