Lecture series for Junior and Senior High Schools: Saitama Prefectural Urawa Girls' Upper Secondary School

On 6 November 2023, a lecture was held at Saitama Prefectural Urawa Girls' Upper Secondary School for approximately 1000 students from the entire school.

It was very successful, with lots of cheering from the participants. There was feedback from the students who had listened to Dean Kato’s story of how he became a researcher and his research being conducted at the Faculty of Engineering, such as "I got acquainted with research that has an impact on our society", and "He explained to us what the engineering research was all about in a way that was easy to follow". His lecture made them much more interested in engineering. There were many questions from the students, including "What impact would an increase in the number of female students in the Faculty of Engineering have on society?". He answered every last question raised by the students one by one and received their warm words of gratitude.
