About awarded research
Amide, a molecular motif widely used from biomolecules to materials, is known to have a double bond character in its C-N bond. In this study, we proposed the development of novel π-conjugated molecules incorporating amide C-N bonds into the π-skeleton. Specifically, we found that an 8-membered ring structure incorporating amides exhibits aromatic stabilization similar to analogues composed of conjugated hydrocarbon skeletons, indicating that amides can play a part in the π-conjugated system.

Your impression & future plan
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Prof. Itoh for his guidance and to the members of my laboratory for their assistance in helping me receive this award. It was a new research theme that we had just started in our laboratory, which was established in the last fiscal year, and it was very encouraging to receive such an evaluation. I am determined to devote myself even more wholeheartedly to my research.
