International Admission Programs (IAP)
The Graduate School of Engineering offers International Admission Program (IAP) as a pathway for degree-seeking international students residing overseas.
This pathway is offered in 14 departments within the School of Engineering, as detailed in "2. Application Guidelines for Individual Programs" below.
- There is no need to travel to Japan before entrance (Online Application and Selection)
- No knowledge of Japanese Language is required
- Once admitted, students will pursue their Master’s or Doctoral degrees alongside those enrolled through the regular admission process. The vast majority of courses at the Graduate School of Engineering are conducted in English, ensuring accessibility for non-Japanese speakers.

1. General Application Guidelines
All applicants, regardless of the department they are applying to, are required to read either of the following.
- General Application Guidelines for Master’s Programs
- General Application Guidelines for Doctoral Programs
*Applicants to the IAP are required to satisfy both of the requirements set forth in 1. General Application Guidelines and 2. Application Guidelines for Individual IAPs. Applicants are requested to carefully review both guidelines prior to applying.
2. Application Guidelines for Individual IAPs
Online application to each department should be made through the respective IAPs shown in the table below. Once applicants have decided on the program through which they wish to apply, they must carefully read the application guidelines of individual IAPs where they can confirm details including application deadlines, eligibility, required documents, financial aid and admission procedure.

3. Online Application System: T-cens 
Eligible international applicants should apply for IAPs through our online system “T-cens” to receive a preliminary evaluation based on academic qualification.
*T-cens is not applicable to the International Graduate Program in Chemistry and Biothechnology.
