Excellent Poster Award, the 144th Annual Meeting of the Resources Processing Society of Japan

This award is presented to researchers whose poster presentations are highly evaluated among the research presentations related to environmental resource engineering.

About awarded research
In this study, a sheet-shaped material fabricated from cyanobacteria-derived biomass was used to evaluate the removal behavior of hexavalent chromium under acidic conditions. Through adsorption experiments and surface analyses, the study demonstrated that the cyanobacteria sheet not only removes hexavalent chromium but also reduces it to trivalent chromium on the surface, suggesting the possibility of partially retaining the reduced chromium in a relatively stable form.
