About awarded research
Presentation Title is "Effect of Sulfur Oxide Impurities on CO2–Water–Rock Interactions with Tuffaceous Sandstone". The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of sulfur impurities in CO2 on chemical reactions between CO2, water, and rock during Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and to elucidate the underlying reaction mechanisms. To achieve this, high-temperature and high-pressure experiments were conducted. Furthermore, numerical simulations using the geochemical modeling software "The Geochemist’s Workbench" were performed to replicate the experimental results and predict the long-term geochemical behavior over a 10-year period.
Your impression & future plan
I am deeply honored to receive this recognition for the research activities I have pursued throughout my two-year Master’s program. I intend to further develop the insights gained from this study and continue my research to contribute to the advancement of CCS-related technologies in the future.
