IEEE Chenming Hu Early Career Award
The IEEE Chenming Hu Early Career Award recognizes young researchers and engineers who are outstanding in the field of electronic devices. The award aims to enhance the international visibility of early-career researchers and to foster the next generation of leaders within the Electron Devices Society (EDS) and the broader electronic device community.

Dr. Takuya Maeda has been selected for this award in recognition of his outstanding research achievements and academic contributions in the field of electronic devices, particularly his work on elucidating the physical properties of wide-bandgap semiconductors and their electronic device applications. The award ceremony was held in December 2025 at the IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM) in San Francisco, USA.
