It honors individuals who have made remarkable achievements and social contributions in diverse fields, including science, engineering, medicine, and the environment. The 2025 edition marks the 10th anniversary of this initiative.
Professor Taikan Oki was not only selected for inclusion in the list but was also featured in the article, which highlighted his research achievements in detail.

 

About awarded research

Professor Taikan Oki of the University of Tokyo was selected for the Asian Scientist 100 (2025 edition) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to sustainable water management through climate adaptation research.
His work on integrating human activities into global water cycle models and improving the accuracy of river flow simulations has greatly advanced the scientific understanding of hydrology and contributed to policy efforts toward a sustainable future.
