Title: DEM-CFD simulation on the suction effect in powder die filling


Presentation overview:
Powder die-filling is a critical pre-compaction process for powder-based manufacturing and plays an essential role across various industries, including pharmaceutical production, powder metallurgy, and ceramic molding for semiconductor packaging. Since the ability to achieve rapid and proper filling directly affects the quality and productivity of final products, it is essential to understand the physical phenomena occurring during the powder die-filling process. In this study, we conducted numerical simulations of a powder die-filling system using the Discrete Element Method coupled with Computational Fluid Dynamics (DEM-CFD). The findings of this research are expected to enable theory-based design of production processes in a wide range of industries, including the pharmaceutical and semiconductor sectors.
