IEEE WPTCE 2025, Best Student Paper Award

IEEE Wireless Power Technology Conference and Expo (WPTCE) is one of the world's largest international conferences in the field of wireless power transfer. Out of 238 accepted papers, one paper was selected for each of the Best Paper Award and the Best Student Paper Award.

 

About awarded research

In wireless power transfer, array structures with multiple transmitter coils are often used. However, when attempting to extend or deform the powering area, interference between coils can create regions where power transfer efficiency significantly deteriorates. In our research, we addressed this issue by proposing a mechanism that autonomously cancels out such interference through contact between adjacent coils, thereby enabling a uniform powering range. Based on both simulations and experimental measurements, we evaluated the proposed mechanism and demonstrated that stable power transfer can be achieved at any position regardless of the coil arrangement.
