On 6th November 2024, Xu Xiaoyan (M2), Long Laboratry, Department of Technology Management for Innovation, recieved "Conference Scholarship Award" and "The People’s Choice Award (poster)" at EcoBalance2024.
This scholarship is offered by the organizing committee of EcoBalance 2024 to support students with solid academic achievements and enthusiasm for learning about LCA and sustainability.
This award is determined by votes from the attendees of the EcoBalance conference. My poster was recognized as the most impactful and impressive based on the collective feedback from the conference participants.
About awarded research
・Title of presentation: Rising social-economic costs caused by PM2.5 pollution and medical service mismatching
・Abstract: This study employs the Global Exposure Mortality Model and the Age-adjusted Value of Statistical Life to estimate health losses caused by PM2.5 exposure and aging. By integrating data from 170,000 healthcare facilities, it identifies regions with a high medical burden due to PM2.5 exposure and aging. The findings provide insights for developing healthcare strategies to address the impacts of regional aging and air pollution in the future.
