About awarded research
Title: "Development of novel epigenetics drug based on nucleic acid therapeutics"
DNA-binding proteins have been difficult to target with small molecule inhibitors. One of them, DNMT, has attracted much attention as a drug target because it is associated with many diseases. In this study, we have targeted DNMTs with novel nucleic acid-based molecules. In this presentation, we mainly presented the synthesis of the candidate molecules and the evaluation of their inhibitory effects.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Associate Professor Morihiro and Professor Okamoto for their guidance and the members of my laboratory for this award. We plan to further modify the developed molecule and demonstrate its efficacy.
