On 11 May 2024, a lecture was held for parents of students who are affiliated with the Faculty of Engineering and the School of Engineering.
The event was attended by about 1,000 people; the Yasuda Auditorium, where the lecture was held, was filled to capacity.
Dean Kato delivered a lecture on the content of the research conducted in each laboratory, potential future career paths, the significance of initiatives focused on developing students’ human resources and the importance of broadening their future prospects.
This was followed by an introduction to the appeal of research by some engineering students who are currently conducting research at the school, as well as an explanation of the importance and benefits of graduate and doctoral study by faculty members.
Parents who attended the event commented that the presentation of examples of research activities and career paths was very convincing and a valuable opportunity to increase their children’s understanding of engineering research and interest in graduate and doctoral study.
