About awarded research

Powder mixing is widely used and studied by the discrete element method (DEM). In this study, a series of DEM simulations are conducted to explore the effect of spring constant and density segregation on powder mixing in an industrial high-speed mixer. This study focused on the effect of initial particle density distribution on powder mixing and　mixing mechanism in binary density system using quantitative analysis such as proper orthogonal decomposition, granular temperature, and mixing index. This study provides novel insights for DEM simulation and powder processing in an industrial high-speed mixer.

By receiving this award, I have strengthened my faith to continue my work and apply the numerical method to solve industrial problems in real world.
