Memorable Experiences
The support provided to international students was excellent. I particularly appreciated the cultural experiences, excursions, and Japanese language classes offered by the university. I also enjoyed participating in alumni events and building connections with fellow graduates.
Challenges and How I Overcame Them
One challenge was that administrative procedures were conducted in Japanese, and there was often a considerable amount of paperwork. In addition, tuition and living costs were relatively high compared with what I was used to in Europe, so I worked part-time during my studies. Although these adjustments were not always easy at first, they helped me develop valuable language, time-management, and financial-management skills. By improving my Japanese language ability and staying organized, I was able to navigate these challenges successfully.
Personal and Professional Growth
My experience at SEUT helped me deepen my technical expertise while also developing intercultural understanding. These skills have been invaluable in enabling me to work with and lead global teams throughout my career.
Career Path
After graduation, I worked in data science for a university professor before joining a mid-sized Japanese software company, where I progressed from Software Engineer to Senior Software Engineer. I then worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Fast Retailing (UNIQLO), followed by a position as Chief Technology Officer at a blockchain and AI company. I currently serve as the CEO of my own company, Texyence.
