Koji Uenishi was awarded the 12th (FY2015) JSPS Prize by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science for the "Studies on the Generation Mechanism of Earthquakes Based on Fracture Dynamics of Solids and the Development of Controlled Fracture in Solids."
