<About awarded research>

Cytochrome P450 monooxygenases (P450s) are capable of catalyzing various regio- and stereospecific reactions. P450s require electrons for their activity via specific reductases and electron transfer proteins (ET proteins). However, it is difficult to identify the partner proteins because there are a large number of reductases and ET proteins in the given organism. In this work, we attempted to identify the redox partner proteins easily. By fusing to a heterotrimeric protein, we can immobilize P450, ET protein and reductase on supports in close proximity to each other just by mixing cell lysate. In this study, we discovered reductases that transfer electrons to ET proteins in Thermobifida fusca.
