Why UTokyo, School of Engineering?
I chose to study Chemical Systems Engineering at UTokyo for its focus on cutting-edge research, particularly in advanced material synthesis with an emphasis on sustainability. Its top-tier facilities and strong industry connections make it the ideal place to engage in impactful research and build a career in Japan. Living in Tokyo also opens up incredible professional and cultural opportunities, helping me grow in every way.
What do you like most of the school?
What stands out most to me is the guidance from the faculty, access to world-class research facilities, and support available for international students; my research group has been incredibly welcoming. The academic environment is both challenging and inspiring, and being part of UTokyo’s prestigious community drives me to do my best every day.
Message for prospective students/researchers
Studying at UTokyo is truly a unique experience. You’ll have the chance to collaborate with some of the brightest minds, not just in Japan, but globally. Being a Todai student comes with a unique sense of pride that you’ll feel every day as you enter the campus. Even if your program is in English, learning a bit of Japanese can make daily life smoother and help you bond with local students.
