In The Spring Meeting of Japan Society for Precision Engineering 2024 in Tokyo, March 12 - 14, 2024.
In daily patrol inspections in plants, the expert inspectors are superior to the novices in finding out symptoms of failures. In order to clarify behavior differences between experts and novices, we carried out behavior comparison of an expert and a novice to clarify the behavior difference of them. In addition, we conducted interview to the engineers utilizing the identified behavior differences for extracting inspection strategy of the expert. As a result, we recognized four sorts characteristics of the expert such as conducting double-checking using multiple methods. The four characteristics indicate that expert conduct daily inspections more cautiously than the novice.
Your impression & future plan
I feel so honored to be awarded and greatly appreciate everyone involved. Since my research is still in progress, I will do my best to capture the strategy of expert inspectors more clearly and comprehensively.
