About awarded research

Presentation Title: Simulation Using Large-Scale Language Models in the Ultimatum Game – Towards Establishing a New Methodology in Economic Experiments –
The scientific method of observing human decision-making, known as economic experiments, involves a lot of costs. Simulations utilizing large-scale language models are beginning to attract attention as a solution to this problem. In this study, we conducted simulations using large-scale language models with various conditions altered, using the well-known experimental theme of the Ultimatum Game, and searched for the appropriate settings to replicate the results of actual experiments with participants. As a result, the potential and current limitations of using large-scale language models as an alternative to economic experiments were both suggested.

Your impression & future plan

This was my first participation in a social science conference, and I am deeply honored to have received such an award. I will take the comments received from everyone active in the fields of behavioral economics and experimental economics as nourishment and continue to pursue further research without being confined by the barriers among research fields.
