Best Presenter Award

This award is presented as a recognition of the best presenter in the 8th Asia-Pacific Conference on Synthetic Aperture Radar (APSAR 2023).

About awarded research
Y. Otsuka, R. Natsuaki and A. Hirose, "Interferometric Phase Restoration Using Biquaternion Neural Networks in PolInSAR," Asia-Pacific Conference on Synthetic Aperture Radar (APSAR) 2023 Bali, TU4.R2.5.

In this work, we proposed a method to filter images obtained by interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) using biquaternion neural networks (BQNNs) in order to generate highly accurate digital elevation models (DEMs). Our proposed method enables the utilization of local scattering information in filtering InSAR data, which leads to
more accurate DEM generation than conventional methods.

Your impression & future plan
I am honored to receive this award. I'd like to thank my supervisors, Prof. Akira Hirose and Prof. Ryo Natsuaki, for their guidance.
