The 77th Annual Meeting (2022) Student Presentation Award of the Physical Society of Japan
Recognize graduate and undergraduate students who have delivered outstanding presentations at a JPS meeting.
About awarded research
Yoshioka group is working on the realization of laser cooling of positronium (Ps), which is a bound state of an electron and a positron. In this study, we have developed a unique laser that has all requirements for efficient cooling of Ps. This would be a major step forward for not only the realization of laser cooling of Ps but the precise spectroscopy in Ps and the first Bose-Einstein condensation in an antimatter system.
Your impression & future plan
I am honored to receive this award. I will be diligent in my research for the realization of laser cooling of Ps in the near future.
