<About the Research>
Single crystalline nanowires are fascinating nanomaterials for fundamental nanoscience and functional device applications by taking advantage of their restricted nanospace and three-dimensional structural designability. We have clarified the mystery of self-assembled phenomena in nanowire growth and developed a rational methodology for designing the structure, composition and functionality of nanowires based on spatially-selective crystal growth towards novel functional nanomaterials and nanodevices. Our main research target is on metal oxide nanowires, and we have successfully demonstrated the clarification of physical origin in nanoscale memristive device and the developments of high efficiency thermoelectric device and ultra-low energy consumption molecular sensor until now.
Present research focuses on the creation of molecular recognition function on metal oxide nanowire surface towards robust molecular recognition electronics and the human-environment interaction based on chemical information analysis by AI. In collaboration researches, we develop the electronic devices based on cellulose nanofibers and nano biomedical analysis devices. We aim to open a novel platform in nanomaterial and nanodevice fields.

<Future aspirations>
I would like to challenge new researches for innovating nanomaterial and nanodevice sciences, and creating novel values from them by cooperating with lab members and collaborates who have interdisciplinary research backgrounds.
