<About awarded research>
A series of optically-active ruthenium sandwich complexes bearing a helical molecule, helicene, as ligands were synthesized. Among all the complexes synthesized, only the bimetallic one was found to exhibit phosphorescence. The emission mechanism was investigated by both experimental and theoretical methods.
I was very happy to win this prestigious award, especially because it is my first time to receive such a prize. I will do my best on my research life. I am grateful to Prof. Kyoko Nozaki and all the members of the Nozaki group.
