On November 5 and 6, the Japanese Language Class at the School of Engineering visited the chrysanthemum festival at Yushima Shrine.
An autumn flower, there are 350 kinds of chrysanthemums. People have enjoyed them from the early seventeenth century in Japan.
About 2000 stalks of various chrysanthemums prepared with the utmost of care are exhibited at Yushima Shrine.
Students enjoyed not only the various kinds of chrysanthemums blooming, but also doing ema (giving a pictorial offering) and getting omikuji (written fortune) on a clear autumn day.
