On 27th October 2018, Amane Suzuki(M2), Department of Chemical System Engineering, received Best Poster Presentation Award in 41st Chemoinformatics symposium. It was given for the superior poster presentation by student at this symposium.

● About awarded research
In the drug discovery with machine learning (ML), a large amount of labeled data set is often required. When you want to predict the activity against a specific protain, however, you may be impossible to prepare sufficient amount of labeld data. The shortage of labeled data leads to degradation of ML model, and it also leads to difficulty of practical application. In this research, we proposed a method to achieve good prediction with a small amount of supervised samples.  The proposed method performed semi-supervised learning using a large amount of unlabeled data available on the web.

It is my honor to accept this award. I would like to thank Prof. Funatsu for his advice. I also thank all members of our laboratory. The discussion with them have helped to brush up my research. I will keep improving my analytic skills without forgetting the actual application.
