On 17th October 2018, ASTIA RIZKI SAFITRI (D3), Departments of Bioengineering, received Elsevier TIV/ESTIV best oral presentation at the 20th International Congress on In Vitro Toxicology.

The presentation was a part of 20th International Congress on In Vitro Toxicology held by European Society of on Toxicology In Vitro (ESTIV), Berlin, Germany, October 14-18, 2018. ESTIV selected several poster abstracts to be presented orally based on 4 criteria: originality, complexity, rationale, and relevance to the field, and selected the winner based on the performance. The presentation was conducted in “Student Session (including young researcher under 35 years old)”category.

●Name of award and short explanation about the award
Award name: Elsevier TIV/ESTIV best oral presentation
Conference name: the 20th International Congress on In Vitro Toxicology
Presentation title: Establishment of bile duct-like structure by mimicking the intrahepatic bile duct morphogenesis for an in vitro chemical and drug testing.

●About awarded research
The presentation was about one of my PhD thesis topic that is developing the bile duct In Vitro for bile duct recovery. We are successfully developed an enhanced-bile duct structure by mimicking embryonic morphogenesis and this engineered-tissue shows capability for bile collection from the culture.

I am grateful and glad to receive these awards. I am glad that my Sensei, my supervisor, and my labmates are being helpful thus I could come up with this idea as well as nearly finish this research. This accomplishment definitely motivates me and hopefully for others, thus we may keep contributing for society by working on research.
