Japanese Language Class of the School of Engineering Flower arrangement (Ikebana) workshop

On May 20 th, the JLCse held an ikebana workshop on the Hongo Campus.
After greeting the international students in attendance, the instructor from Ichiyo School of Ikebana explained what Ikebana is and how to arrange flowers.
Then, the students arranged yellow roses, temarisous, and safflowers in mugs and other containers they brought (as directed by the instructors) to make their own arrangements.
The classroom was filled with the flowers they arranged.
Everyone looked refreshed by the energy they got from the flowers. At the end of the workshop, we took a picture of all of the participants with their arrangements.
The students had a nice chance to experience Japanese culture and learn about the Japanese sense of beauty.
