<About awarded research>

Award Paper's Name "Converting Motion Between Different Types of Humanoid Robots Using Genetic Algorithms"(Award date: 2014/05/30)
In this research, we proposed a new method to create imitation motion between different kinds of robots. We evolved a conversion matrix, which converts joint angle data of a teacher robot into joint angle data of a student robot by using Genetic Algorithms that evaluated both the similarity and stability of imitation motions. As a result, we succeeded to generate the conversion matrix that converted motion not only imitating motion of the teacher robot, but also keeping the balance depending on the structure of the student robot.
