<About awarded research>

Such failure modes are postulated at throats of liquid rocket engines as excessive deformation and crack initiation because their combustion chambers have complex structures subjected to server thermal stress. Through clarification of failure mechanism of combustion chambers under severe multi-physics conditions, this research enables life prediction by computer simulation. (Cooperative research with Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency JAXA)
