<About awarded Research>

Fullerene derivatives have attracted considerable attention on electronic material science, and the development of novel synthetic methods for fullerene derivatives provides an important subject. I have succeeded in the photocatalytic addition of a-aminoalkyl radicals to fullerene by using photocatalysts under visible light. In this reaction, new fullerene derivatives that have not been synthesized can be produced easily. This reaction provides novel methods for syntheses of electronic materials.
