On 3rd December 2020,  YUAN Yao(D3), Department of Chemical System Engineering, received Student Presentation Award at The 40th Conference of Hydrogen Energy Systems Society of Japan.

〈Name of award and short explanation about the award〉
Student Presentation Award at The 40th Conference of Hydrogen Energy Systems Society of Japan This award is conferred to excellent presentations delivered by students in the meetings of Hydrogen Energy Systems Society of Japan.

About awarded research〉
A novel Fe/BZY cathode catalyst was synthesized and applied to electrochemical nitrogen reduction using proton-conducting electrolyte CsH2PO4/SiP2O7. In addition to ammonia, hydrazine, a byproduct, was detected, suggesting that the process proceeds by an associative mechanism.

〈Your impression & future plan〉
I would like to thank Associate Professor Ryuji Kikuchi and the members of Kikuchi Laboratory for supporting my research. Encouraged by this award, I would like to continue to contribute to the development of a low-carbon hydrogen energy society.
