On 26th October 2020, Hiroki Mitsubayashi (M1), Department of Precision Engineering, received 2020 IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Japan Joint Chapter Young Award.

〈Name of award and short explanation about the award〉
2020 IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Japan Joint Chapter Young Award
(Given to young researchers who presented a promising paper in an international conference on robotics and automation (IROS,CASE) and are enrolled in Japanese graduate schools)

 About awarded research〉
To solve the problem of the trade-off between spatial and temporal characteristics of a tomographic tactile sensor, we proposed a new algorithm using adaptive potential excitation and demonstrated contact pressure imaging with high temporal resolution.

Mitsubayashi, S. Yoshimoto, and A. Yamamoto,

"Adaptive Potential Scanning for Tomographic Tactile Sensor with High Spatio-Temporal Resolution"
Proceedings of 2020 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2020), pp. 9827-9832, 2020/10.

〈Your impression & future plan〉
I hope to do further research that will create academic value in the world.
