Kai Hidaka(M2), Department of Chemical System Engineering, received the CSJ Presentation Award for Industries for ATP Poster Presentation.

Awarded research:
In this research I focused on MTO reaction kinetics, which enable us to obtain and tune lower olefins such as ethylene and propylene from methanol, conventionally produced from petroleum resources.
For the kinetic analysis, I utilize a specialized technique of SSITKA, Steady-State Isotope Transient Kinetic Analyses.
Then, the following results could be found and reported in this presentation:
i) The fractions of formed propylene including 12C and 13C showed an asymmetric response, obtained by switching them during the reaction occurred.
ii) Several routes for the formation of propylene and the most facilitated route could be identified.
iii) Propylene was found to again take part in the MTO cycles for further higher olefins, from the results and discussion on a mean surface resident time during the catalyst particle.
